rather than buy the equipment used and set it up yourself, why not just get a promotional plan that they offer from hughesnet or wildblue

I had hughes net, and i couldnt get the modem to work properly, all the time, the modem would stop working,and we would have to unplug it for 2 hours plug it back in and hope that it would work, then when we called a tech to come fix it, they would never call, nor come out to the house to fix it, we tried for 3 months to get someone to come fix the equipment so that we could use our expensive service,. NO thank you, I do NOT recommend HUGHESNET to anyone.

I have Hughes now and it sucks. They tell you "speeds up to 1.5 mb", but what they don't tell you is that they don't guarantee that speed. It usually functions at half that. I started with the entry level plan and it was terrible. Then I upgraded to the 2nd plan, $75 monthy, still too slow. I couldn't watch a video because the file wouldn't download fast enough. I recently upgraded to the Pro package at $80 a month plus $125 for the modem, and its barely noticeably faster. I wish I had another provider.
Wild Blue is worse. Their equipment breaks down because of poor design
